Hearth Housing Bendigo Buys its 1st House in Bendigo

We are very excited about the purchase of our first Hearth House in Bendigo. The purchase follows our recent launch of our Hearth Housing Bendigo “ Pilot Initiative” on the 14th of December 2021.

What is Hearth Housing?

Hearth Housing has been created to solve the problem for the 94% of NDIS Participants who are not eligible for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

Our Housing model is different. We believe in providing Participant choice and control in their housing outcome.

Choice about where to live, who to live with and which Hearth Support Workers they work with. It is a rental model with the properties owned by a separate but related entity from Hearth.

There is a choice as to whether there is a financial gap to pay privately or not, depending on the location of the home and some other factors.

Hearth Housing and Hearth Support Services

Housing and quality individualised support based on participants goals is key to long term sustainable housing support.

The Hearth Housing “Pilot Initiative” has commenced with families where Hearth Support Services have built long term sustainable support teams with.  Hearth Support Services have provided continuity of support and developed well established relationships built on trust and knowledge of the needs of Participants and Families.

Hearth Support Services has several key elements to its innovative approach to disability support services. This includes the Relationship Manager role, the passion for Support Worker matching of Participants needs and interests and the quality of the central support team including expert compliance.

Hearth is excited to be progressing its “Pilot Initiative” with foundational families in Croydon and Bendigo. Once the initial houses are established and the model evidenced, we plan to be able to scale across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

We are seeking expressions of interest

Hearth is excited to be progressing Hearth Housing Bendigo through its “Pilot Initiative” and is actively seeking “expressions of interest” from Participants in the Bendigo Community

Hearth aims to secure a portfolio of apartments, townhouses, and houses (2 – 4 bedroom) embedded in the community, owned by a separate but related entity to Hearth for the exclusive long-term rental by people with a disability.
